Why a Fatima procession in Basel?

Fatima 1917
In Fatima (Portugal) on May 13, 1917 the Blessed Mother Mary to three shepherd children. In order to warn the world and the Catholic Church of coming crises and punishments, she also appears on the following 13th of the month until October of the same year, on which a great Solar miracle in front of 70,000 people takes place. As last resort for our time she calls praying the rosary and devotion to her Immaculate Heart. The apparitions and revelations of Fatima are authenticated by the Catholic Church in 1930.
Fatima processions
About 70 years ago, in May 1952, the public devotion to Our Lady of Fatima began in Switzerland with a large Fatima procession in Basel with 20,000 participantswhich will be followed by a pilgrimage through some 250 parishes. We have resumed this public worship since 2022.
More relevant today than ever
Let us commend ourselves, our families, our country and the whole world to the Immaculate Heart, so that peace may come and all may come to Jesus Christ through Mary.
During her apparition in Fatima, Our Lady requested the daily recitation of the rosary and devotion to her Immaculate Heart. Our Lady also asked that the Pope, together with all the bishops, consecrate Russia to her Immaculate Heart and introduce communion of reparation on the first Saturdays; she said: “If my requests are fulfilled, Russia will be converted and there will be peace.” The message is therefore very topical, especially in view of the war in Ukraine. Pope Francis also consecrated Russia and Ukraine to the Immaculate Heart of Mary on March 25, 2022.
